Well, what a way to end the year. Through the efforts of the Parish the Millennium group has a lot of success to report.

We have had a Christmas Tree in the Village with lights (thanks to the United Reformed Church for the Electricity Supply). |

We have received a lottery grant for the purchase of the equipment to enable us to do our millennium record of the village. This money is specifically for the purchase of computer equipment and consumables for the book and cannot be used for any other purpose. |

The joint church service was well attended by members of the Parish and others from further afield. Thanks to the United Reformed Church for supplying "Jimmy Mack" punch and Shortcake. |
| ...is that people in the Parish may wish to Sponsor
the planting of a tree. You will be aware that we intend to purchase ½ standard trees so we can see the effect of the avenue in the near future and not have to wait 20 years to gain the benefit. We have therefore calculated the cost of sponsoring one tree at £10. This includes stakes and other purchases necessary to give the trees the best chance of taking. You may wish to sponsor a tree now so we can start planting in the near future. If we can plant a few trees now we can continue to fundraise and if necessary complete the planting later in the year. If you feel you are able to help please complete the donation form on this page and return it to The Project Co-ordinator, 5 Front Street, Glanton, Alnwick, Northumberland NE66 4AP. Cheques should be made payable to the "Glanton Millennium Project". |
