Northumbrian Water haven't responded to my query about compensation for those households that were not informed in any way about the planned times that the water would be turned off during the last few weeks.
According to their website they should have given between 12 and 48 hrs notice for planned interruptions, and if they did not keep to this, customers would automatically be paid £20 per domestic customer and £50 per business customer.
Those who were not informed may wish to follow this up individually.

Unfortunately this has become an issue again, with several unwanted piles being left on our village pavements. It is an offence to let your dog foul any public area within the village boundary. Not only is it a nuisance but the elderly and the young are likely to step in, and possibly then slip in these piles.
A top tip for clearing up dog poo is to buy a roll of nappy bags. These are very cheap, small enough to keep in any pocket, they tie easily and can also be perfumed, (which is no bad thing!)
For those that did not receive a letter from the BBC or missed the news articles, the BBC have confirmed that they will not be using Glanton for their fly on a wall series.
Thanks to everyone who helped organise, attended and contributed to the various activities for the Asian Tsunami appeal:
Printed on the back of the newsletter is the cast list of the Glanton Millennium Photo. Thanks to Richard Verrill for producing this, and if anyone wishes further copies please speak to Richard directly.
Did you know that if you are over 60, the governmental sponsored agency Staywarm, will bill you a set amount for all your electricity. The bill is based on the number of people living in your property and the number bedrooms. The amount to be paid for all electricity is the same whatever you use, so if it a cold winter you can have an electric heater on all day and it won't affect your bill.
